Every year CFI attends Asia Fruit Logistica we get to witness the growth and enthusiasm of participants at this incredible event. This year Chris Connell, Ximena Villa Garcia and I made our way to Hong Kong with our Kuehne & Nagel partners to talk fruit with other industry thought leaders. Before embarking, we set up a direct appointment email to ensure we had time to speak to each and every customer, one-on-one, if they desired dedicated time with us. Eighteen customers reached out to talk with CFI and we met a new consignee in Taiwan whom we introduced to Kuehne + Nagel Taiwan to work on FOB deals.
The highlight of the trip was our dinner with CMI group at a local fish market. Everything we ate was made to order and at the peak of freshness. For a few hours the focus wasn’t on the different booths, mascots, or Asia Fruit Logistica, but instead we were able to just get to know our customers and talk about their needs and ways we can fulfill those needs. The best parts of these trips are always the time we spend with the customers.
This year, we had the opportunity to spend more time with our Kuehne + Nagel partners, Kuehne + Nagel PVG in particular, to discuss communication and how to better service all of our customers in the coming years. It’s a true benefit to work with such dedicated people who are on the same page about how to proceed with providing exemplary service to clients, and an exceptional environment to employees.
We’re excited to see the new opportunities coming from our meetings, including shipments of some stone fruit to Taiwan as well as cherries through these connections.
