“International Women’s Day means recognizing progress that has been made over the years. Embracing and honoring those who have paved the way for women and girls.”

– Cathy Dinh, Lead Export Coordinator, LAX

On March 8th, International Women’s Day, we take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible women who help drive CFI Perishables forward every day. In this post, we share the voices of just some of the women at CFI, offering their insights, experiences, and perspectives on what it means to be part of this industry. Their contributions are invaluable, and today, we take a moment to highlight them.

“I started at CFI as a temp import agent, and after two weeks, I was hired by the company. We have spent almost 18 years together. During my tenure here, I’ve worked every shift imaginable and played a role in the import, warehouse, dock customer service, export, and domestic departments. In addition, I’ve also learned valuable skills and qualities such as attention to detail, teamwork, organization problem-solving, and effective communication. I’m thankful to CFI because I am a product of a successful woman in logistics.”

– Lonni Hunt, Domestic Lead Agent, LAX

From operations and logistics to customer service and leadership, these women bring fresh perspectives, unique experiences, and brilliant ideas that shape our business and the entire perishables supply chain. Their expertise and dedication don’t just keep things moving—they ensure that every shipment, challenge, and success is handled with excellence and care.

“That I have been successful in my role here is a testament to the dedication CFI has for its female employees, as well as the willingness of its managers to provide mentorship to those in every level of the company.”

– Rachel Lagmay, Import Customer Service Supervisor, HNL

Logistics is about timing, precision, and problem-solving; the women at CFI embody all that and more. They are navigators in complexity, champions of efficiency, and innovators in a field that demands adaptability.

“I have been in the logistics industry for over 35 years, it’s apparent that women’s opportunities have increased immensely in this field. There has been a rise in women taking on more and more leadership roles and have seen many more efforts to close the gender gap in the ‘traditional’ male-dominated roles in logistics and supply chain roles.”

– Alina Mauri, Air Freight Supervisor, MIA

“Women have a keen sense of work style and continue to bring new ideas to the industry. Be confident in yourself, and go out and do great things. And with that, leave behind the same values and ambition to encourage the person next to you and for generations to come.”
