Every month, CFI works diligently to raise your awareness of important current news and stories impacting perishable cargo shipments and the current state of logistics because we believe informed clients make informed decisions and help us elevate the service we provide. And while there are plenty of stories in the news this week, and there won’t be a shortage of breaking alerts for a while, this October we wanted to highlight some internal news to give our readership a glance behind the scenes to see what CFI is doing this month!
One of our traditions for October is to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month by showing our support for the Susan G. Komen foundation. Each year approximately 275,000 women and 2,500 men in the US will be diagnosed with some form of breast cancer. Over the past 25 years, the survivor rate of breast cancer has improved by 40% thanks to advances in medicine, improved research, and early detection. Even with the improvements, one in eight women will still be diagnosed with breast cancer in her life. In a year with medical news at the forefront of everyone’s mind because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s still important to ensure we’re all doing what we can to support the frontline workers, doctors, and patients who are working during the pandemic and receiving or giving treatment during this tumultuous time.
We are appreciative to all of our customers, families and CFI employees, especially those employees on the front lines who have continued to report to work each day, allowing CFI to continue to conduct business and fulfill our promises to our customers. For anyone that is able, we would like to call upon our CFI family and friends once again to help us make an impact in the fight against breast cancer.
Help us raise $2,000.00 to stop this. As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen funds more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. One donation can change everything, no matter how small the contribution. Above all, we can make a difference. You can make a tax-deductible donation online with your credit card by clicking the button.
