Commodity Forwarders is looking for a full time Warehouse Agent to fill a position within our warehouse department. This is a non-exempt position with a starting rate of $18/hr. depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity to join our New York City branch.

Location: Lawrence, NY

Your Role:

• Ensure the smooth flow for both inbound and outbound cargo movements for customer and vendor satisfaction.
• Ensure all work completed meets the company’s quality standards as well as keep claims and damage to a minimum.
• Ensure all necessary reports and records are complete, timely, and accurate.
• Complete freight forwarding forms and documents.
• Ensure all Freight forwarding activities abide by all government laws and regulations at origin and destination.
• Responsible for cleanliness, sanitation, compliance and any other general warehouse or cooler upkeep that is necessary to maintain Food safety and OSHA standards as directed by the warehouse management.
• Keep a safe, secure work environment by maintaining all necessary compliance requirements.
• Able to lift/push/pull 35 lbs.
• Able to stand on your feet for an 8–10-hour shift.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the US and pass TSA background check.
• 6 months to 1 year prior warehouse experience.
• 6 months to 1 year forklift experience – manual/electric is a bonus.

Cold Storage Environment:

• Freezers at 0–15 degrees.
• Coolers at 28–39 degrees.
• Loading docks at 40–55 degrees.

Work environment is fast paced; multi-tasking and handling high-pressure situations is preferred. Depending on season, weekend and holiday coverage may be required. Warehouse is a 24 hour / 7 day a week operation & cold storage temperature-controlled environment.
