Commodity Forwarders is looking for a part time Driver to fill a position within our Transportation department. This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $18/hr. This is an excellent opportunity to join our Hilo, HI Branch.

Location: Hilo, HI

Your Role:

• Prioritize the warehouse work flow for both inbound and outbound cargo movements to insure customer and vendor satisfaction.
• Assure completed work meets company’s quality standards and keep claims and damage to a minimum.
• Assure reports and records are complete and accurate.
• Keep a safe and, secure work environment.
• Assure freight forwarding activities abide by government laws and regulations at origin and destination.
• Keep communication with warehouse supervisors of your status during the transportation cycle.
• Read and complete manifests including outbound consolidation forms.
• Complete all scheduled deliveries/ pick-ups in a timely manner.
• Able to constructively handle extended wait times at airlines and customer sites and act professionally through this process.

Requirements:

• 1 year driving and warehouse experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean DMV abstract
• Medical card
• Able to lift 35 lbs.
• Ability to drive box truck vehicles with exhaust brakes, and operate safely.
• Able to stand on your feet for 8 – 10 hrs a day.
• Computer and system navigation experience is preferred
