Due to COVID restrictions, many charities cannot accept items as donations so we ask everyone to confirm the requirements set for the safety of those in need this season.
Because of this, we gave our stations the flexibility to turn in their donations to their preferred local churches/food banks they or any of their staff knows of. LAX has determined that they will be donating canned foods to VA Long Beach.
It might look like this year’s effort may ended up falling short of what we typically expect, but we’re still dedicated to doing as much as we can in the ways that best fit the new pandemic restrictions. Our piles might not be as high, but we’re still giving with hearts wide open.
“This year has been very difficult for all of us and many are not in a position to do as much as in previous years, but we’re still committed to doing what we can to support our communities.
Even a small stone can make a very big ripple.” ~Vy Huynh
Food insecurity doesn’t take a day off, not even holidays. Families struggling with having enough to eat are often depending on charitable donations to help them have a Thanksgiving dinner. Feeding America isn’t a holiday specific charity; rather they’re at work year round to feed American families.
Started in 1947, Toys for Tots buys and gives toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy Christmas presents. Some facts about the organization:
584 million toys distributed to date.
265 million children supported to date.
If you decide to give this season, we thank you.
