Commodity Forwarders is looking for a full time Logistics Customer Service Representative to fill a position within our operations department. This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate starting at $15/hr. This is an excellent opportunity to join our Miami branch.

Location: Miami, FL

Job Duties:

• Perform job responsibilities with a strong sense of urgency, enthusiasm and professionalism as needed to maintain a high standard consistent with the company’s culture and goals
• Prioritize the work flow for cargo movements to insure customer and vendor satisfaction
• Insure the timely movement of cargo from origin to destination to fulfill customer’s instructions and insure procedures for taking bookings are followed at all times
• Coordinate with customs brokers to obtain release documents in a timely manner to maximize productivity of the warehouse
• Process claim paperwork timely and accurately with carriers
• Verify on-boards and forward necessary correspondence to customers
• Check vendors and customers in at dock office in a professional manner
• Approach each file and customer as an opportunity to exceed expectations and build customer confidence.
• Coordinate all necessary deliveries while maintaining our strict delivery guidelines
• Make sure all import files are provided to the warehouse are complete
• Make sure all freight forwarding activities abide by all government laws and regulations at origin and destination.
• Make sure all necessary reports and records are complete, timely, and accurate

Physical Demands:

• Ability to read documents, forms and computer screens
• Enter and retrieve data from the computer and complete freight forwarding forms and documents
• Ability to handle multiple calls simultaneously
• Clearly communicate face to face, over the phone or through e-mail
• Environment is fast paced. Must be able to multi-task and handle high-pressure situations
• Frequently going in and out to the warehouse

Minimum Requirements:

• Highschool Diploma or equivalent, or some college is a plus
• 1-2 years of airfreight agent or customer service
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish is preferred
• Basic Computer Skills including e-mail, web browsing, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
• Excellent customer service and vendor relations skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently handling various responsibilities, and ability to multi task
